Vincent Andrew Murphy, Longtime Medford City Employee, Dies at 82
Murphy died Saturday, Nov. 23.

Vincent Andrew Murphy, 82, died on Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Chelsea Soldier's Home. Born in Worcester the son of the late John and Mary (MacDonald) Murphy, he was raised in Everett. Vincent later moved to Medford where he lived for 58 years.
Vincent proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later worked as Time Keeper for the Department of Public Works in the City of Medford for 44 years. He was a member of the Medford VFW and Disabled American Veterans.

Vincent was the beloved husband of the late Geraldine (Pesce) and devoted father of Kevin Murphy of Medford, Brian Murphy of Stoneham, Sean Murphy of Wilmington and the late Wayne Murphy. He was the loving grandfather of Brian, Jon, Christopher, Kelly, Sean Jr., Krista, Michael and Shannon, and great grandfather of Christien. Vincent was the brother of Albert Murphy of Saugus, Margaret Fitzgerald of Everett, Mary Donahue of Melrose and the late Lonnie Murphy and Mildred Warren.
A funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
