Woman Charged with Drunkenly Crashing into State Police Cruiser at Wellington Circle

The officer sustained minor injuries.

A Revere woman was arraigned Wednesday, charged with crashing into a State Police cruiser last night at Wellington Circle, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan's office said.

Anamaria Batista, 45, of Revere, was arraigned at Somerville District Court and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, 2nd offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a state highway traffic violation.

Prosecutors say at approximately 11:25 p.m. Tuesday night, State Police arrived at Wellington Circle in Medford for a report of a crash involving a marked cruiser. Batista allegedly rear-ended the cruiser while it was stopped at a red light.

The State Police officer sustained minor injuries.

Bail was set at $250 cash and ordered held due to a probation violation out of Salem District Court. Batista is ordered to not consume alcohol and to be subject to random screens. The defendant was then ordered held due to a probation violation out of Salem District Court.
