Woman Cited for Crashing Car into Main Street, Damaging Gas Line
A 73-year-old Everett woman drove into the East Boston Savings Bank on Main Street, police say.
MELROSE, MA - A 73-year-old Everett woman will be mailed a citation after driving her car into a Main Street bank, damaging a gas line in the process.
Police say that at approximately 10:48 a.m. Wednesday, multiple reports came in of someone driving their car into the side of the East Boston Savings Bank at 108 Main St.
Police found a 2014 Nissan Altima with it's front end up against the wall of the bank.

The bank was evacuated due to the gas line damage and National Grid arrived to secure the line and shut off the gas. The scene was cleared around 11:30 a.m.
No on was injured, but the Nissan sustained heavy front-end damage and was towed.

The driver will be mailed a citation for negligent operation of a motor vehicle, police said.
