Melrose Early Voting a Big Hit

Early voting in Melrose was a huge success.

Massachusetts allowed early voting for the first time this year, and there was great turnout statewide. Melrose alone saw 5,116 votes cast, according to Eric Wildman, a member of the Board of Registrars of Voters. That, in addition to the 811 absentee ballots received by the Elections Office, meant a turnout of nearly 30 percent before Nov. 8.
