Melrose Businesses Score 100 Percent Alcohol Compliance Rates
No Melrose businesses sold alcohol to underage buyers during the latest round of alcohol compliance checks.
MELROSE, MA—Melrose parents may rest a bit easier knowing that businesses are not selling alcohol to underage buyers.
According to a release from the Melrose Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition, Melrose businesses went through a series of compliance checks, and none were found to have sold alcohol to underage buyers. Three establishments were closed or unable to be attempted at the time of the checks, and were not included.
Police partnered with the Coalition, as well as youth aged 16-20 years old, to conduct the biannual checks. Teens attempted to purchase alcohol at various businesses without providing any identification.
