Melrose Foundation Will Honor Educator With Brand New Award
The award will recognize and reward one district faculty member.
MELROSE, MA — The Melrose Education Foundation announced it will soon be awarding its inaugural Excellence in Education Award.
The foundation is asking for students, parents, donors, and supporters to cast their vote for a district educator that they feel went “above and beyond” their duties and expectations during this current school year.
“Every day, educators across Melrose Public Schools support innovation, strengthen the school community, and make a meaningful difference for students,” the foundation said about the award. “This award is an opportunity to recognize someone who goes above and beyond.”

The foundation added that the winner will not only be at the center of a special event where they are recognized, but also be the recipient of $500 that they can freely use to improve their curriculum and teaching experience.
Nominations can be submitted online now and will remain open through Friday, April 3. Faculty members of all eight schools are on the ballot.

The Education Foundation was founded in 2013 by district parents and volunteers with the goal of creating a consistent and sustainable source of private funding for th district. It is now recognized as a nonprofit. The Foundation now raises approximately $50,000 each year.
