Melrose Home Sustains Damage After Catching Fire
The blaze broke out early Wednesday afternoon.
MELROSE, MA — A home has sustained damage after it caught fire on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Melrose Fire Department.
Crews responded to the two-alarm blaze at 80 Altamont Ave. just before 12 p.m. According to Firefighter Steve Judge, the flames were extinguished approximately 40 minutes later and no injuries have been reported. Judge told Patch that the residence did sustain heavy damage however. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and remains under investigation. The Woburn, Everett, and Chelsea Fire Departments provided mutual aid in the form of standby and regional coverage.
