Melrose Rallies Around Family Who Lost Home To Fire
About $15,000 was raised as of Sunday night.
MELROSE, MA — All you need to know about the Schille family is the response they've received from the community following a three-alarm fire that cost them their home Saturday night.
Multiple Facebook posts on the Melrose Community Page have expressed deep sorrow for Paul and Deb Schille and the other members of the their family who lost their longtime home. The outpouring of support has spilled into a fundraising effort marked by a YouCaring page that as of 1 a.m. Monday morning surpassed its $10,000 goal, reaching nearly $15,000 thanks to more than 200 donors.
Andrea McCollem, who set up the YouCaring page, was gathering donations of basic items and gift cards. Materials for the two family dogs who were rescued have been taken care of courtesy of donations.

Everyone made it out of the home safe Saturday night.
Paul Schille, at the site of the fire on late Sunday afternoon, told Patch his family will make it through as some people came by to extend condolences and offer support.
