Open Now...WellBarre Studio - Where Mind and Body Meet
WellBarre Studio offering complete fitness and wellness programs, Pilates, Barre, Barre Fusion

After working in mental-health for many years as a psychotherapist Leslie Miller, founder of WellBarre Studio realized that traditional psychotherapy often lacked practical solutions to manage stress, improve coping skills or improve health or athletic goals. While people could gain insight into a problem, what often remained was the burning question…so what now? Ms. Miller who had taught group exercise for many years in New York City, while studying dance as part of a theatre arts major in her undergraduate program realized that the solutions to wellness often involved physical health and fitness, stress reduction, meditation and postural alignment. It was nearly impossible to have a sense of wellbeing without the mind and body achieving balance. Out of that belief system, Ms. Miller developed WellBarre Studio. At the studio, clients are able to take unlimited Barre, Pilates and Yoga classes, get health coaching strategies, and participate in counseling if appropriate to deal with long-standing issues. Classes are limited to 8-10 participants or private sessions so that the feel is more personalized to fit each client’s particular goals for mind-body wellness. Leslie said, “Clients need to be seen and heard. A warm, engaging personal environment is what WellBarre Studio is all about. Clients should feel comfortable, supported and excited about their wellness goals, and not just another body at the barre….”
Other offering at WellBarre Studio, include Massage Therapy and Postural Alignment. Massage Therapist, Sal Morando, Jr., is certified in Orthopedic Massage and Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques. Sal is an expert in working with both seasoned athletes as well as clients suffering with stress related injuries. About his work and personal passion for what he does, he had this to say, “ I enjoy the challenge of working with sports related injuries such as marathon runners, but I also work with many office workers who suffer with stress and postural related aches and pains. When I was 19, I lost a large portion of my eyesight due to a rare eye disorder, and I am now considered legally blind. This loss of sight helped steer me into this field but also helped strengthen my skill in a field built on a hands on approach to helping people feel better.”
WellBarre Studio is now open. Located behind the First United Methodist Church on the second floor of the Church Annex at 645 Main Street, Melrose Center.
