TOPSOCCER Returning to Melrose!!

Melrose Youth Soccer Update

This fall, for the second straight year, Melrose Youth Soccer will team up with the TOPSoccer program to host a seven-week soccer season for children with physical and/or cognitive challenges. TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program dedicated to helping young athletes with disabilities learn the game of soccer in a nurturing, fun atmosphere with one-on-one support. The Melrose program, organized by a group of students from Melrose High School and Malden Catholic with support from Melrose Youth Soccer Board members, will begin with a training session for volunteers on September 18 from 3:00 to 4:00 on the Cabbage Patch in Melrose (the field in front of the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School). The following six Sundays (September 25, October 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30) will be dedicated to hosting participants between the ages of 5 and 17 from 3:00 to 4:00 on the Cabbage Patch. Registration for both players and volunteers is available on the Melrose Youth Soccer website (www.melroseyouthsoccer.net – Follow the Registration links). If you would like your son or daughter to participate, or have any questions, please contact Bob Lynch-Galvin (bob.lg65@gmail.com) or Christine Thorsteinsson (Christine.thorsteinsson@comcast.net).
