Want to Combat Substance Abuse Among Melrose Youth? Here's Your Chance
The Melrose Youth Action Team is now offering mini grants to help others plan substance-free activities for Melrose's youth.

MELROSE, MA—Do you have an idea for an event or plan to help combat substance abuse among our teens? Do you just need a bit of money to get the project off the ground, or just want to make a difference in the community?
The Melrose Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition’s Youth Action Team (YAT) is here to help. The team announced Tuesday that they are accepting applications for 2016 Youth Mini Grants. The grants provide funding to those with ideas that will help teens be more involved in the community and to provide substance-free events.
According to the announcement, Winners are scored and selected based on their creativity and overall plan of action. The winners of these awards will be given an amount between $250 - $1,000.

Applications are due by Apr. 1, and winners will be notified on Apr. 18. Applications are available here. They are also available at the Melrose Health Department and the middle and high school main offices.
