We've Got Love For Melrose
Your local Patch reporter has been here for one year. So he says, "Thank you!"

MELROSE, MA — My first weekend living in Melrose was a busy one.
Friday night high school football opener for a team that would win the Super Bowl; Melrose Symphony Orchestra's 100th anniversary celebration (where I landed the best photo of my young life) on Saturday; and the Victorian Fair on Sunday. Not soon after, my now-wife and I were granted the 100th marriage license in Melrose for 2017.
It's only gotten busier since then. In August alone, we had about 77,900 visits to Melrose Patch - not bad for a city of about 27,000!

- We were on scene before anyone else and inside the home of a Melrose owner after a car plowed through his front porch. Check out the story and interactive Facebook Live feed here.
- We had all the angles of one of the most controversial issues in the last year, and we don't shy away from some of the most frustrating.
- We covered several fires live, including one that resulted in tragedy despite bravery and one that resulted in an eye-popping sale.
- We told you who the new mayor was the moment it happened, which is what we like to do whenever important news drops from City Hall. No, seriously. Try us.
- We don't just give you local storm coverage, we bum-rush Shaw's the night before just like you do.
And we aren't done yet. The next year will shine some light on some of primary issues facing the city: An override measure that would help infuse the schools with what officials say is much-needed cash, the opening of a Melrose marijuana shop, the continued evolution of Main Street downtown, and more.
Still haven't topped that photo, though.
