Milford Man Charged In Store Fight

The man slashed another man in the hand during a fight outside of a Main Street store, according to police.

MILFORD, MA- A Milford man was arrested early Sunday morning after police said he was involved in a fight outside of a Main Street store where he slashed a man in the hand.

Alexander Paposedero, 32, was sitting at a table inside of the Richdale Food Shop around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday when he got involved with an argument between a couple buying lotto tickets and the store clerk, according to the police report.

The man in the couple approached Paposedero and began arguing with him- witnesses told police they heard Paposedero ask the man if he wanted to take the argument outside and then shoved him, starting the fight.

According to the report, the fight moved toward the front doors- the man, woman and Paposedero were all involved. Witnesses told police that was when Paposedero pulled out a knife.

Once the fight moved outside Paposedero was tackled to the floor, landing face first. He told police that when he fell the couple began hitting and kicking him in the face, so he swung his knife and ended up slashing the man in the hand. The slash was described in the report as "a severe laceration."

Paposedero suffered a facial fracture and the man involved admitted to punching and kicking him.

Paposedero said he did not draw his knife until he was outside of the store but the couple and witnesses had conflicting statements.

Paposedero was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of assault and battery. The couple was not charged.
