Milford Schools To Get $100K For Flooring And Painting Repairs

MILFORD, MA — Milford schools are set to get funding for building repairs, according to state officials.

Gov. Maura Healey signed the fiscal 2026 supplemental budget into law Jun. 12, including $100,000 for flooring and painting repairs in Milford Public Schools, Sen. Becca Rausch (D - Norfolk, Worcester and Middlesex) announced on Monday. Sen. Rausch said the money granted to Milford is part of $750,000 she secured for school priority projects across every community in her district.

The law includes $1.56 billion in education and transportation investments, including $100 million for cities and towns dealing with winter infrastructure damage and snow and ice removal costs, according to the Massachusetts Municipal Association.

Sen. Rausch said the Fair Share supplemental budget directs an additional $779 million to transportation and $573 million to education. The Fair Share surtax is paid by Massachusetts households earning more than $1 million per year, according to the state Senate Ways and Means Committee.

Milford Public Schools told Patch that it's looking to refresh and renovate some classrooms at Memorial School with this funding.
