Dog Killed in Milton, Limo Driver Charged with Jewelry Theft, Woman Pulled from Burning Car

A large breed dog was put into quarantine at the Milton Animal Shelter this week after she got out of a Church Street residence and killed a Yorkshire terrier.

Police in Braintree this week warned residents of phone scams after a local man wired $500 to a person who claimed his brother had been in an accident.

A passerby pulled a woman from a burning car following an accident Wednesday evening in Marstons Mills. A Hyannis man was driving the car when it crashed into a utility pole; he is now facing multiple charges including OUI, driving with a suspended license for a previous OUI charge and leaving the scene of an accident.

A 70-year-old Delaware man was killed Wednesday when his small plane crashed on Cuttyhunk.

A Hyannis limo driver was arrested this week after while transporting a family visiting Osterville.

On Martha's Vineyard, a demolition job got out of hand after workers dismantling a boat behind Carroll's Trucking ignited gas that remained in its tank. The Tisbury blaze left two boats totalled and a truck damaged.

A Boston man with a cocaine-dealing conviction was nabbed by drug agents on Martha's Vineyard this week, as he arrived in Vineyard Haven Tuesday night.

In Plymouth, a local man was arrested on charges of attempted murder and domestic assault and battery on Coral Street. 

Also in Plymouth, four individuals were arrested on disorderly conduct charges.

Doctors determined that a Weymouth man accused of murder is not mentally competent to assist in his own defense at trial, his attorney said this week.

A large Hingham Police drill took place on Margett's Field on Wednesday, and numerous police vehicles from several police departments could be seen on the Ward Street field from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

A judge ordered a Hingham woman to stay away from alcohol and submit to random testing while awaiting her next court appearance on June 25.
