Stolen Vehicle Crashes in Milton After Three-Town Chase

On Sunday afternoon, three police cruisers were hit by the erratic driver of a vehicle that was stolen from Boston.

A Randolph man and his two passengers were transported to the hospital Sunday afternoon, after leading police from Holbrook and Randolph on a chase that ended in a crash on Blue Hills Parkway in Milton.

Keon Shine, 20, was operating a 1996 Honda Accord that was stolen from Boston when he struck a tree on Sunday, just after 4 p.m. according to police. State and Milton Police responded to the accident, which sent Shine and Charles Gales, 20 of Dorchester, to Boston Medical Center. A third passenger, a 16-year-old male from Randolph, was transported to Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Holbrook Police Chief William Marble, said Shine crashed after trying to go the wrong way down Blue Hills Parkway.

The chase began on South Street in Holbrook, when an officer tried to pull the vehicle over for speeding. The vehicle failed to stop and was then identified as stolen.

Shine drove the vehicle into Randolph where the Randolph Police Department joined the pursuit. In an attempt to evade the pursuing officers, Shine struck a Holbrook cruiser and two Randolph cruisers according to Marble.

The Holbrook cruiser received minor damage to the passenger side including the directional light and the corner panel according to Marble.

After hitting the cruisers, Shine allegedly traveled the wrong way on the highway toward Milton.

"He was driving erratically and dangerously," Marble said.

Shine now faces a host of charges including assault with a dangerous weapon, failure to stop, driving to endanger and larceny of a motor vehicle according to Marble. State Police will also charge Shine with operation under suspension and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
