Needham Police Log: Underage Drinking, Stolen Jewelry, and More

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

September 16

3:30 p.m. - An officer took a walk-in report from a 2nd Avenue resident that reported some jewelry missing from her apartment.

10:00 p.m. - Officers were dispatched to 73 Chestnut St. for a report of three juveniles trespassing and climbing into the dumpster. The youths were identified and parents will be notified.

September 17

1:45 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to Lois Lane to take a report from a man you was bitten by a dog. The animal control officer was notified and a report was taken.

7:45 p.m. - A Highland Avenue resident came to the station to report that someone had used her identification to open a Walmart credit card. They were able to charge about $1,500 on it before it was canceled. Walmart and Needham police are investigating.

8:40 p.m. - Officers were dispatched to a residence on Highland Avenue near May Street for a report of an underage drinking party. Multiple teenagers ran from the area as officers arrived. A 58-year-old Needham man will be summoned to court for furnishing alcohol to a person under 21.

September 19

7:45 a.m. - An officer responded to Great Plain Avenue near George Street for a report of a hit and run. The reporting party said that a vehicle struck the dump body of the truck they were driving while stopped at a red light at the intersection of Great Plain and Central Avenue. There was no damage to the dump truck, but the reporting party believed there was damage to the other vehicle. The party wanted the incident documented for liability purposes. A check of the area for the vehicle yielded no results.
