Canning Workshop this Saturday 10/3

Join Wright-Locke Farm this month for hands-on workshops about canning, stargazing, soup making, and bird watching

Wright-Locke Farm’s Educational Workshops for teens and adults this month include a variety of subjects related to local food and the wonders of nature. Consider attending one or more of the following:

Introduction to Canning the Fall Harvest on Saturday, October 3 from 10am-12pm at Saint Eulalia’s Parish (50 Ridge Street, Winchester, MA)

Learn the fundamentals of hot water bath canning at our hands-on workshop. We’ll discuss different types of goods- like jams, butters, pickles, and sauces- that can be safely prepared and canned at home using local seasonal foods such as grapes, apples, pears, cranberries and other late season fruits and veggies. Participants will make and can a pint of applesauce to take home.
