Charles V. Grillo, Jr. candidate for Newton, Brookline and Wellesley Republican State Committee

My name is Charles V. Grillo, Jr. I am a candidate for the First Middlesex & Norfolk Republican State Committee - Newton, Brookline and Wellesley. I grew up in Brookline and graduated Brookline High School in 1994. I served in Operation Iraqi Freedom as a member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard (2003-2004). I currently reside in the city of Newton.

Members of the Massachusetts Republican State Committee are elected during the Republican Presidential Primary every four years. This year the election will be held on Tuesday March 1st. The State Committee establishes the policies of the Republican Party, provides leadership to the city, ward and town committees in electing Republican candidates to office, raises money for prospective candidates seeking political office, and seeks new members for the Republican Party.

The only time you hear about the state committee is usually when there is a dispute within the party and the Boston Globe has a field day publishing the party divide. I am fed up with the embarrassment and lack of fairness, openness and transparency within the Massachusetts Republican Party.

I was the first candidate to announce and get on the March 1st Republican State Committee ballot for Newton, Brookline and Wellesley. I am fighting an uphill battle because the ESTABLISHMENT AND SPECIAL INTERESTS don’t want to lose control of their party. I have news for them. It is not their party. It is your party. The Massachusetts Republican Party is supposed to provide funding and support for candidates running for the House of Representatives and Senate.

There are two special elections going on right now. Stephanie Peach from Peabody and Dean Tran from Fitchburg. Their special elections will be held on March 1st as well. Both candidates asked for funding from the Massachusetts Republican Party and were told their isn’t any funding available. Maybe because the Republican Party feels that they are not strong candidates or even better, the Massachusetts Republican Party wants to spend money on endorsing and electing MODERATE Republicans to the State Committee. The CONSERVATIVE candidates are getting run out of town. You have probably received many mailings and emails originating from the Governor asking you to vote for moderate candidates. Those mailings cost alot of money. Too bad that money didn’t go to the State Representative candidates fighting for the opportunity to fight for you.

Instead of campaigning for myself this weekend. I do have three opponents. I chose to drive to Fitchburg and campaign all day on Saturday and Sunday for State Representative candidate Dean Tran. I also went on WCRN AM830 radio on Sunday morning discussing Dean Tran’s candidacy. Supporting good conservative candidates is what I have been doing all my life.

I want to represent your voice and best interests in the Massachusetts Republican State Committee. I want to be your independent voice. I will not be a rubber stamp for the establishment or special interests. I would sincerely appreciate your consideration and vote on March 1st.

Sincerely,

Charles V. Grillo, Jr.
