Eliot Church of Newton's choir welcomes new singers. The choir sings at weekly service on Sunday mornings, and is a supportive community.

Eliot Chancel Choir is Welcoming Singers!
The Eliot Chancel Choir extends the opportunity to youth and adult singers for an engaging choral experience. The Choir sings a variety of music from the choral tradition encompassing the Renaissance through Contemporary Era as well as music from the Folk and Gospel traditions. In addition, the Chancel Choir is the home of the Eliot Quartet, four talented professional singers who are section leaders for the ensemble. The Choir is a marvelous way to serve through singing for weekly service on Sunday mornings, Christmas Eve, Holy Week, and Easter; it’s also an opportunity to learn and expand musically and spiritually as a singer. The Sanctuary at Eliot is a magnificent acoustic space for choral singing and the fabulous Bozeman organ is an additional attraction for accompanying sacred singing. Weekly rehearsals on Thursday evenings include voice and breath work, four-part hymn singing, and choral anthems. The choral ensemble is a supportive and open community embracing new singers. This year, a fifteen minute vocal warm-up and meditation/prayer is being added at 7:00 pm before the start of rehearsal. Please come and try out the Chancel Choir this fall. Come to First Rehearsal Thursday, September 8th from 7:15 - 9:15 pm, followed by a Choir Social! We are an Open and Affirming Church. Children and youth join their parents during the opening of worship, followed by Christian Education classes after the Children’s Message. We provide childcare for infants and toddlers during worship from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. Worship is followed by fellowship time in our chapel, Adult Forums and Faith Formation opportunities.
