Evening walk of about 2.2 miles in the northern and central
sections of Hammond Woods, including Houghton Garden. Highlights include Ledge Loop trail – which passes below and along the top of a sandstone cliff, Moss Rock swamp, a glacial erratic the size of a Smart car, Gooch’s Caves, and Houghton Garden.
Wear shoes and clothes appropriate for roots, rocks and short steep sections.
Bring water, especially if very hot.
