Heather Colmore Mack Joins Newton-Wellesley Hospital as Vice President, Development/President, NWH Charitable Foundation

Newton Resident to Spearhead Philanthropy Efforts

Newton-Wellesley Hospital (NWH) has announced that Heather Colmore Mack has joined Newton-Wellesley Hospital (NWH) as Vice President, Development/President, Newton-Wellesley Charitable Foundation. In this key leadership role, Mack will drive strategic fundraising efforts for Newton-Wellesley Hospital and oversee all aspects of the philanthropy program including events and other development activities.

Mack is a seasoned healthcare professional with more than 20 years of experience building and implementing strategic philanthropic programs. Most recently, she served as Senior Managing Director of Development at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she was a member of the team that planned and implemented one of the most successful campaigns in the organization’s history. a highly successful campaign, surpassing the goal of $1.5B by $240M.

Mack received her undergraduate degree at Goucher College in Towson, MD and her Masters of Business Administration from Loyola University in Baltimore, MD. She resides in Newton with her family.

The Newton-Wellesley Hospital Charitable Foundation was founded in 1999 to ensure the growth of philanthropic support for the Hospital. The funds raised by the Foundation are directed toward the Hospital’s current operating budget needs, capital building projects, and various clinical program and services initiatives. As a non-profit community teaching hospital, Newton-Wellesley relies on philanthropy to keep pace with technology, continue to invest in new facilities and equipment, and recruit top physicians, nurses and other medical professionals. Philanthropy provides the “margin of excellence" that makes Newton-Wellesley a leader among community teaching hospitals nationwide.

Newton-Wellesley Hospital is a full system member of Partners HealthCare System, Inc. (PHCS), a nonprofit organization that includes acute care hospitals Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's/Faulkner Hospitals, The North Shore Medical Center, and specialty hospitals McLean Hospital and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, as well as Dana-Farber/Partners CancerCare, and the community-based doctors and hospitals of Partners Community HealthCare, Inc.

Newton-Wellesley Hospital provides a wide range of services, including medical, surgical, ob/gyn, cardiovascular, emergency, orthopaedic, neonatal, pediatric, hematology/oncology, and psychiatric care. Newton-Wellesley has been serving its community for over a century. The medical staff of the Hospital includes nearly 1,000 physicians practicing a full range of specialties. NWH is a major teaching hospital for Tufts University School of Medicine and also has established post-graduate training programs for Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital residents, teaching hospitals of Harvard Medical School.
