Historic Newton to Present Free Screening of '20 Feet from Stardom'

What: Historic Newton, a non-profit organization that encourages exploration of Newton, Massachusetts within the broad context of American history, will screen the Oscar-winning documentary, 20 Feet from Stardom, at the West Newton Cinema. The movie tells the story of the backup singers behind some of the greatest musical legends of the 21st century. Grammy-award winner Lisa Fischer, who is featured in the movie, will be performing at Newton North High School on April 1, 2016 in a benefit event for Historic Newton.

The screening is presented free of charge. West Newton Cinema will provide attendees with free popcorn during the screening.
