The main task of the music intern is to greet students and parents as they arrive at The Conservatory in a warm, inviting manner, generally in the afternoon and evening. Interns will also answer the phone, tidy up, and do other office tasks as directed by our staff. Depending on the interest of the intern, other projects may be assigned, such as creating marketing materials or recording projects. Interns may also be asked to distribute Conservatory flyers at various sporting and other events around Newton on the weekends. Interns will be supervised but will often work on her/his own and will need to be self-motivated.
Requirements:
We are looking for friendly, energetic, organized, self-driven interns who enjoy working with people and are reliable and on time. An interest in music is an obvious plus but it is not essential. Excellent verbal and written skills, however, are a must!
Compensation & Perks:
Internships are unpaid, though college credit may be arranged, if applicable. Additionally, interns are welcome to work on homework, practice an instrument, and use The Conservatory facilities and recording studio while on the job.
