Jodi (Janet) Larson, MD, Named Chief Quality and Experience Officer at Newton-Wellesley Hospital
New Role Underscores Importance of Quality, Safety and Patient Experience

Newton-Wellesley Hospital (NWH) has announced that Janet (Jodi) Larson, MD, has been named Chief Quality and Experience Officer (CQXO). In this key leadership role, Dr. Larson will lead Newton-Wellesley Hospital’s quality, safety and performance improvement activities as well as efforts to ensure the best experience possible for patients and family members, employees and providers.
“This is a new role which I personally established and underscores the importance of quality, safety, and experience across the Newton-Wellesley Health System. Dr. Larson will lead the development of a quality and service culture at NWH where quality, safety and service strategies are closely aligned to ensure the best experience and outcomes for every patient,” said Michael R. Jaff, DO, President, Newton-Wellesley Hospital. “NWH has built a wonderful reputation for high-quality care with an exceptional experience and Dr. Larson will dramatically expand upon those successes to create the best place for patients to receive care, providers to practice medicine, and for employees to work. ”
Prior to her new role as CQXO, Dr. Larson was Acting Associate Chief Medical Officer and the Medical Director for Quality and Patient Safety. She also previously held the roles of Program Director of the NWH Transitional Year Residency and Site Director of the MGH Internal Medicine, MGH-McLean Psychiatry, Harvard/Longwood Psychiatry and MGH Anesthesiology residencies. Dr. Larson has served as the Assistant Chair of the Department of Medicine since March 2008 and will continue to work clinically on the Adult Internal Medicine Hospitalist Service. She resides in Newton with her family.

Newton-Wellesley Hospital is a full system member of Partners HealthCare System, Inc. NWH is a major teaching hospital for Tufts University School of Medicine and has established post-graduate training programs for residents of Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, teaching hospitals of Harvard Medical School.
