At Least A Dozen More Cars Broken Into: Newton Police Logs

At least 12 people reported they thought their cars were broken into this past week, according to the Newton Police logs.

NEWTON, MA — Some 12 people reported they thought their cars were broken into this past week. Someone else reported that several pieces of her car, including the bummer were stolen. The following is taken from Newton Police logs available online and emails from the Newton police. Just because someone reported an incident doesn't mean that's the way it actually unfolded. Break in reported on Hollywood Drive.

Thursday, April 19

8 Car break ins reported, including on the 100 block, the 500 block and the 600 block of Beacon Street, and also on Warren and Chestnut Hill terraces.

Shoplifter: An Employee at the Apple Store on Route 9 reported someone had him bring out two Mac book pro computers from the back under the premise he was going to purchase them. The suspect then
grabbed the two Mac book pro computers and ran out of the store...The staff described of the man as tall,
well built, black, wearing a green baseball hat, green vest, and black pants.

Friday, April 20

More car break-ins: Someone reported their car was broken into while it was parked on the 700 block of Beacon Street.

Stolen: Someone on Cynthia Road reported a larceny.

Saturday, April 21

Arrested: Police arrested Rafael Esteban Escalera, 39, of Jamaica Plain on a Warrant out of Brighton District, Uninsured MV, Unregistered MV, and Registration

ATV gone: An Elmwood Road resident reported a child's toy ATV was taken from the backyard sometime before April 13. The ATV was described as white with black and red markings.

Bits and pieces: Someone called to report that after she parked her car in front of Ashmont Avenue she came back to find that someone had taken multiple parts of the outside of her car, including the rear bumper, both taillights and sensors for the vehicle. The driver’s side and passenger side were also damaged and possibly where entry to the vehicle was made. The hood of the car was also open but unknown if anything under the hood was tampered with or stolen.

Stolen truck: Someone came into the Police Headquarters to report they parked their Ford F250 in the parking lot of at 150 block Rumford Ave on Friday night and when they went to get it, it wasn't there at 8 a.m.

Broken into: Someone else reported their car was broken into while it was parked near the corner of Ashmont Ave and Hawthorne Street.

Sunday, April 22

Brush fire: Someone reported a fire near the corner of Nahanton and Winchester streets around 3:30 p.m.

Vandals: There was a report of vandalism of property on Watertown Street where Cataldo Ambulance Service is situated.

Monday, April 23

Arrested on Warrant: Juan Luis Ramirez-Ruiz, 22, of Newton was arrested and will be charged in Newton District Fugitive From Justice on a Court Warrant out of Butler County in Ohio.

Larceny: Reported at 8:50 a.m. on Walnut Street.

Vandals: On Clinton Street.

Tuesday, April 24

Arrested on Warrant: Eric Jermaine Henderson,32, of Boston was arrested and is charged on a probation warrant.

Arrested on Warrant: Police arrested Anna Borukhov,22, homeless had one straight warrant, and three default warrants out of Worcester District and Newton and Quincy.

Arrested on Warrant: Police arrested William Spina, 62, of Boston on a Straight Warrant out of Lowell District Court.

Shh: Someone reported a loud noise at 7:11 p.m. at the Woodland Park Apartments on Grove Street.

Wednesday, April 25

Happening? Someone called police at 3:08 a.m. to report they thought someone was breaking in to a spot on Graylock Road.

Another 2 car break ins: This time near the Apple Store in the parking lot on 199 Boylston Street and then on Gate House Road.
