Into the Light Photography Exhibit to Raise Funds for Newton-Wellesley Hospital's Vernon Cancer Center
Local Cancer Survivors Combine Passion for Art, Healing

A photography exhibit featuring the work of six local photographers from the Newton Camera Club will be on display from October 3-29 at the Betty Meyer Gallery, United Parish of Auburndale, 64 Hancock Street, Newton.
“This special event celebrates our love and appreciation of life, and coming together to share the ways in which the art of photography has helped us along our healing journey,” said Viv Shein, a Vernon Cancer Center patient and featured photographer.
The opening reception to kick off the exhibit will be held at the United Parish on Saturday, October 7 from 4-6pm and feature a silent auction. The exhibit will feature 34 photographs depicting a wide range of topics, including portraits, landscapes, architecture and scenes from the Newton Farmers’ Market. Personal statements from the photographers about how photography has helped them cope with cancer will also be displayed. Proceeds from the auction and a portion of the proceeds from all other images sold will benefit Newton-Wellesley Hospital’s Vernon Cancer Center and The United Parish of Auburndale.
