Newton's Dr. Enrique Caballero with Luis Tiant at Joslin Benefit

Joslin Diabetes Center, the world's largest diabetes research and clinical care organization, celebrates its annual "ritmos de salud" event.

Newton resident Dr. Enrique Caballero, Founder/Director of the Latino Diabetes Initiative at Joslin Diabetes Center, daughter Areli Caballero Gonzales and Luis “El Tiante” Tiant at Joslin Diabetes Center’s ritmos de salud benefit.

Newton resident Dr. Enrique Caballero, Founder/Director of the Latino Diabetes Initiative at Joslin Diabetes Center warmly greeted special guest Luis “El Tiante” Tiant at Joslin’s fourth annual ritmos de salud benefit at the Artists for Humanity EpiCenter in South Boston. Over 150 guests and supporters attended the event, which raised over $135,000 for Joslin Diabetes Center’s Latino Diabetes Initiative (LDI), which strives to improve the lives of Latinos affected by diabetes, or at risk for the disease, through culturally oriented patient care, education, outreach and research, as well as working to find a cure.
