Newton-in-Motion to Hold Demonstration Friday and Saturday
The intersection of Washington and Walnut streets will hold a temporary traffic configuration to give drivers an idea of possible redesigns.

NEWTON, MA - The intersection of Washington and Walnut streets is getting a temporary facelift this weekend.
On Friday and Saturday, the Planning and Public Works Department's Newton-in-Motion Program will demonstrate the possible ways the intersection can be reconfigured to make it more user-friendly for drivers.
The temporary configuration will be comprised of moveable materials and include elements such as curb extensions, pedestrian islands, bike lanes, parklets and art programming.
