Newton-raised singer Aoife O'Donovan comes back to perform with the Celebrity Series of Boston
Aoife O'Donovan was the lead singer of Boston-based progressive string band Crooked Still and performs regularly on stages around the world.

For a decade, Aoife O’Donovan wielded her instrument with tensile strength as the captivating lead singer of the Boston-based progressive string band Crooked Still. Local audiences will recall her turn as a featured vocalist on The Goat Rodeo Sessions concert with Yo-Yo Ma, Stuart Duncan, Edgar Meyer and Chris Thile.
Born in Newton, MA, O’Donovan attended the New England Conservatory before blazing her own trail. Since she started touring, she has shared the stage on Prairie Home Companion, and released two solo records, "In The Magic Hour," as well as the live record, "Man In A Neon Coat: Live From Cambridge."
O’Donovan is joined on this double-bill by Julian Lage and Chris Eldridge. Though still in his twenties, Lage has already enjoyed a remarkable, genre-crossing career. As the New York Times has put it, Lage is an artist whose roots are "tangled in jazz, folk, classical and country music." Guitarist Chris Eldridge, a founding member of Punch Brothers, has been at the vanguard of acoustic music for much of the past decade.
