Newton residents win national titles at Summer North American Bridge Championships

Newton resident Paul Hattis claimed victory in the Red Ribbon Pairs event, and brothers Zachary and Adam Grossack also of Newton, Mass., claimed victory in the Grand Nationals Team Championship at the Summer North American Bridge Championships (NABCs). The events were two of the 18 championship-level events held in Washington, D.C., from July 20 to 30.

This was Zachary Grossack’s third first-place NABC title and Adam Grossack’s second first-place NABC title. The NABCs are held three times a year across the U.S. and Canada to bring together players of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, with opportunities for everyone to play daily from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The 2016 Fall NABCs will be held in Orlando, Fla., from Nov. 24 to Dec. 4.
