Newton Student Named AP National Scholar

A Newton resident, a graduate of the Commonwealth School in Boston, was named AP National Scholar.

Amanda Dai of Newton, a 2015 graduate of Commonwealth School in Boston, has been named an AP National Scholar by the College Board, according to an announcement from readMedia.

National Scholar is the highest level of recognition for academic excellence based on a student’s performance in the College Board’s Advanced Placement Exams. AP National Scholars received an average score of 4 or higher on all of their Advanced Placement [AP] exams and scores of 4 or higher on at least eight of their exams, said the announcement submitted by readMedia. A total of 46 current and former students at Commonwealth School were recognized by the AP Scholar program this fall.

Commonwealth School is an independent, coed, day school with 145 students in grades 9 to 12. Located in Boston’s Back Bay, the school is built on intellectual curiosity, a faculty of talented and supportive teachers, and a diverse community that recognizes the importance of each individual. T
