From The Second Step: The Second Step, a Newton, MA based domestic violence organization is thrilled to announce a partnership with Ashley and Tyler Ott for the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats campaign. A graduate of Harvard University, Tyler started his NFL career as a member of the New England Patriots. Tyler is currently entering his third season as the Long Snapper for the Seattle Seahawks. He resides in Milton, MA with his wife Ashley, who is a long-time supporter and Board Member of The Second Step. The Otts’ interest in The Second Step is fueled by disturbing domestic violence trends in the United States.

" It is a wonderful example of a power couple working to fight against domestic violence and in doing so raise the awareness of the work that The Second Step is doing for domestic violence survivors and their families," said executive director Julie Lima.

On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men. Ashley and Tyler’s goal is to raise awareness of domestic violence and the great work that The Second Step (TSS) is doing for domestic violence survivors and their families. As an organization, TSS provides critical services, housing and support to families impacted by domestic violence need to make a fresh start. The Otts have commissioned local artist Julieanne Strom Brill to design Tyler’s cleats that he will wear for week 14 of the NFL season. Following the game, The NFL will host an online auction and 100 percent of proceeds raised by Tyler’s cleats will be donated to The Second Step. Fans may bid on game-issued player cleats at https://auctions.seahawks.com/
