Oak Middle School 8th Grader Rallies Community to Fight Cancer

Jane Mo, of Newton, presented a check to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

On Friday, Nov. 18, Oak Middle School 8th grader Jane Mo of Newton presented a check totaling $328.30 to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as a result of a bake sale she held this summer in Newton Center.

A few years ago, someone very close to Jane was diagnosed with a late stage cancer and had run out of options from other hospitals, but has now had 5 years of successful treatment at Dana-Farber. Fueled by a school project and in an effort to give her support, Jane rallied her local community to come out and give to Dana-Farber. Dana-Farber is grateful for Jane’s contribution and congratulates her on this accomplishment.
