October Education Programs at Wright-Locke Farm (Winchester, MA)

Canning, stargazing, soup making, and more

Though the autumnal equinox marks the slowing pace of life on the farm, there is still a lot happening at Wright-Locke Farm (Winchester, MA) during the month of October. The U-Pick organic raspberry operation runs through the beginning of the month, the farmers are still harvesting fruits, veggies, herbs, and flowers from the fields for local markets, and the historic 1827 Barn is humming with late season special events and education programs.

Educational Workshops for teens and adults this October include a variety of subjects related to local food and the wonders of nature. Consider attending one or more of the following:

  • THIS WEEKEND: Introduction to Canning the Fall Harvest on Saturday, October 2 from 10am-12pm
  • Fall Stargazing Workshop with Dr. Josh Roth on Friday, October 16 from 6:30-8:30pm (ages 8+ welcome with adult attendee)
  • Healthy Soup Making Workshop with Nutritionist Gena Mavuli on Saturday, October 24 from 10am-12pm
  • Introduction to Bird Watching Walk with Andrea Golden on Sunday, October 25 from 9-11am

Registration is required to attend farm education programs. Visit the farm’s website to learn more about or to register for a Youth Education Program or Adult Workshop.
