Canning, Yoga, Raising Chickens and More Programs this fall at Wright-Locke Farm
The autumn season is a wonderful time of year to get involved at Wright-Locke Farm (Winchester, MA). This fall, the Farm is offering a variety of practical skills workshops related to healthy living, small-scale agriculture, and the wonders of nature for adults and teens; some programs are also open to kids ages 8 and up when enrolling with an attending adult. Please note that all programs require registration via WLFarm.org to attend.
Join the Farm today Sunday 9/25 for our Introduction to Pressure Canning Workshop with Kimi Ceridon from 4 - 7pm at Saint Eulalia's Parish kitchen (50 Ridge Street, Winchester, MA). Hot water bath canning is a great way to preserve the flavors of the warm months, but is limited to high-acid foods like jams, pickles, and salsa. Learn about the equipment, resources, and safety precautions necessary for successful steam pressure canning of low-acid foods like plain vegetables, meat / poultry, soups, sauces, and more. Under the guidance of Ms. Ceridon, attendees will prepare and pressure can a pint jar of vegetable soup to take home and enjoy.
