North Andover Man Charged With Writing Racist Graffiti

A North Andover man attending the University of Massachusetts Amherst has been accused of writing racist graffiti on dorm room doors.

Devin Ayres, 20, was charged with vandalizing property and property damage to intimidate. Ayres reportedly admitted to police of leaving messages on two doors at the school’s John Quincy Adams dorm, reported MassLive.

According to MassLive, Ayres targeted the rooms of an African-American student and one who is dating an African-American man.

WWLP reported that Ayres was arraigned on Monday. CBS3 reported that Judge Thomas Estes told Ayers to stay away from UMass campus and the victims.
