Former Northborough Man Pleads Guilty To Steroid Trafficking, Firearm Charges

NORTHBOROUGH, MA — A former Northborough resident has pleaded guilty in a federal drug trafficking case involving anabolic steroids, methamphetamine and seven firearms.

Mark Taslakian, 52, of Las Vegas, pleaded guilty Thursday in Worcester federal court to conspiring to distribute anabolic steroids, possessing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and anabolic steroids with intent to distribute, and being a felon in possession of firearms, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Massachusetts.

Prosecutors said Taslakian and others planned to obtain multi-kilogram quantities of raw steroid powder from China and manufacture injectable and oral products. Taslakian developed the name “Nex-Gen Pharma” to market and distribute the steroids, according to court documents.

Authorities searching Taslakian’s former Northborough home seized more than $500,000 in cash, a gold bar, jewelry, steroids, methamphetamine, packaging materials and ledgers, prosecutors said. Seven firearms were also found in a basement safe, according to the USAO.

The methamphetamine charge carries a sentence of five to 40 years in prison. The steroid conspiracy and firearm charges each carry maximum sentences of 10 years.

Sentencing has been scheduled for Jan. 11, 2027.
