Northborough Fire Selects New Fire Chief (patch.com) — Northborough residents are getting a new fire chief as the Select Board unanimously appointed Keith Darling, a veteran leader from the Franklin Fire Department, to head the town's fire services starting Oct. 1. He succeeds longtime Chief David Parenti, with Deputy Chief Neal Aspesi returning to his role after serving as acting chief since April.
   

2. Former Northborough Man Pleads Guilty To Steroid Trafficking, Firearm Charges (patch.com) — A former Northborough resident has admitted to federal charges tied to a steroid and methamphetamine trafficking scheme that also involved seven firearms. Investigators previously searched his former Northborough home, seizing cash, drugs, weapons and records, and he now faces potentially lengthy prison terms with sentencing set for early 2027.
   

3. Northborough plaza sold by longtime owners for $7.1M (wbjournal.com subscription) — A long family-owned shopping plaza on Route 20 in Northborough has been sold for $7.1 million to a local commercial real estate investor. The new owner, based in Northborough, plans capital improvements and potential tenant changes at the Northboro Shopping Center, which houses familiar spots like Rocky's ACE Hardware, Bank of America, and Jolly Roger's Diner.

A fact-check confirms DCF removed the child and juvenile records are sealed, but also notes court documents alleging an assault by the father, meaning the family's explanation has not been confirmed by any public ruling.
