Coronavirus: Norwood Locals To Use Cashier's Checks For Payments
Bank of Canton will be waiving the fee for money orders and cashier checks for Norwood residents.
NORWOOD, MA — Norwood residents will have a safe option to make payments to the town while Town Hall offices are closed, due to the new coronavirus. Bank of Canton will be waiving the fee for money orders and cashier checks for Norwood residents whose only option to make town payments is cash.
Norwood announced Sunday that many of the Town Hall offices would be closed from March 16 through at least March 20 due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
Money orders and cashier's checks provide a more secure option for residents to make payments while Town Hall offices are closed. Payments for the Treasurer may be left in the drop boxes around the building or in the parking lot, or paid by mail or online.

Bank of Canton will waive the fee of a money order or cashier's check for Norwood residents until Town Hall offices reopen.
In order to get a money order or cashier's check, residents should work with staff at Bank of Canton main offices, 557 Washington St. in Canton, and bring a photo ID with them. Residents do not have to have an account with the bank. Checks must be payable to the Town of Norwood.

Town Hall services will be available by appointment, on a case by case basis. Please call 781-762-1240 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to inquire about an appointment.
