Excessive Heat Watch in Effect for Norwood Area
Temperatures could rise to 100 degrees with heat indexes near 105 later this week.

Norwood and much of Massachusetts could be in for some of the hottest weather of the year, according to National Weather Service meteorologists.
Officials at the Taunton, Mass., office have issued an excessive heat watch, which goes into effect Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon.
Temperatures of 95 to 100 degrees are possible, with heat indexes rising to near 105 degrees.

"The combination of hot tempratures and high humidity will create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible," according to a statement.
