Weekend Police Log: August 12-15

Highlights from the daily police log.

Friday, Aug. 12

12:03 p.m. - Resident on North Avenue reported he was being threatened by his neighbor. An officer spoke to both parties and the matter was resolved.

7:10 p.m. - Officer on Washington Street reported a bike was found under the bridge. He will talk to neighbors to see who it belongs to.

11:22 p.m. - Caller at the Norwood Senior Center reported kids gathering on the football field. When officers arrived, the kids were gone.

11:55 p.m. - Resident on Winter Street reported a fight at the entrance to the cemetery. Officers responded to the incident.

Saturday, Aug. 13

12:58 p.m. - Caller at Dedham Savings Bank on Central Street reported smelling gas. An officer and Norwood Fire Department responded to the scene.

3:33 p.m. - Police receive a report of a trunk dumping a load of lumber at the intersection of Boston-Providence Highway and Sumner Street. An officer stood by until the debris was picked up.

5:59 p.m. - Resident on Countryside Lane reported a fox trapped in his backyard. Animal control was notified and responded.

Sunday, Aug. 14

12:47 a.m. - Police received two calls concerning a fight on Roosevelt Avenue. Two people were arrested, including Edwin Angel Matos and Amber Santiago, both of 25 St. John Ave. in Norwood. Matos was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Santiago was charged with disorderly conduct, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.

2:46 p.m. - Police received a report about kids placing bottles and rocks in Dean Street. An officer spoke to all parties, and the kids cleaned up the area.

Monday, Aug. 15

2:17 a.m. - An officer reported an open door at Honey Dew Donuts on Morse Street. The building was checked and nothing was found.
