Weekend Police Log: July 15-18

Highlights from the daily police log.

Friday, July 15:

5:37 p.m. - The Norwood Fire Department was notified of a possible gas leak coming from a meter on Windsor Rd. The gas company was notified and responded to the incident.

7:00 p.m. - A group of kids gathered at the gazebo on the Common. An officer dispersed the group.

Saturday, July 16:

9:41 a.m. - Police responded to a report of a car into a stone wall and telephone pole at the 89 Block of Neponset St. The car was towed and the Electric Light Department responded to the incident.

9:40 p.m. - An officer reported to the intersection of Codman Rd. and Ellis Ave. after receiving a report of fireworks being lit. Nothing was found in the area.

Sunday, July 17:

1:28 a.m. - An officer reported windows smashed out of three vehicles on Davis Ave. A report was filed.

11:51 a.m. - Caller reported her car was disabled in the intersection of Boston Providence Highway and Everett St. Officers responded to the incident.

1:11 p.m. - An officer responded to a report of a loud radio on a second-floor balcony on Dean St. The officer said the radio was barely audible from the fire lane area and was allowed to remain on.

3:32 p.m. - Caller on Washington St. reported a rear door window shattered. It was unknown how it broke.

Monday, July 18:

5:34 a.m. - Norwood police and fire respond to a small smoldering fire at Norwood Central. The fire was on Lenox St. and was extinguished by firefighters.
