Weekend Police Log: July 29 - August 1

Friday, July 29

11:53 a.m. - Caller reported a fight at a T bus stop on Washington Street. When officers arrived, the suspects were gone on arrival.

10 p.m. - Resident on Sunset Avenue reported the neighbor's TV was too loud. Officers were sent to the scene and the neighbor had turned down the TV before their arrival.

10:09 p.m. - Resident on St. Paul Avenue reported a stranger was leaning up against her fence. The man told the responding officer that he was just talking on his cell phone and he lives two houses down.

Saturday, July 30

12:14 a.m. - Female at CVS Pharmacy on Nahatan Street believed a male in the store was stealing eye glasses. When officers responded, the man paid for his merchandise and left.

2:37 p.m. - Foxboro and Norwood Police officials received multiple calls about an erratic driver. Alexsandr A. Shnayder of 31 Star Rd., Newton, Mass., was arrested at a location on Washington Street and charged with an OUI liquor or .08 percent, a second offense; leaving a scene of property damage and a marked lanes violation.

4:39 p.m. - Police respond to a fight on Cedar Street, resulting in the arrest of Scott A. Seguer, 96 Cedar Street. He was charged with disorderly conduct.

8:24 p.m. - Resident at the intersection of Devon and Albemarle Roads reported smelling smoke in the area. An officer responded and reported someone grilling out.

Sunday, July 31

1:56 a.m. - Caller on Avon Road reported a loud party. Officers spoke with the offending residents and were advised.

9:16 a.m. - Police officials receive a report of an explosion and no power at the 16 Block of Marlboro Street. The Norwood Fire Department and the Electric Light Department were notified.

2:08 p.m. - Party came into the Police Department and said her car at a location on Jefferson Drive was broken into.

10:48 p.m. - Resident on Manchester Road reported an underage party. Officers responded to the party and waited for all the parents to pick up their children.

Monday, Aug. 1

9:19 a.m. - Resident on Plymouth Drive reported a strong odor of natural gas. It appeared someone might have been working on the gas lines in the area.

5 p.m. - Police received a report of a person dumping a mattress and box spring into the grass along a location on Boston Providence Highway. A "be on the lookout" notification was sent to police cruisers and Stoughton Police. The offending party was tracked down — they said they needed ropes to tie the mattress and box spring down and will be back.
