The guide points you to Books & Sundry on Water Street, nearby cafes, Pilgrim Memorial State Park, Brewster Gardens, Nelson Memorial Park, and the Plymouth Breakwater for a relaxed, low-cost outing.
   

• Philip Swanson, 77 (duxburyclipper.com) — Plymouth readers are saying goodbye to Philip "Phil" Swanson, born in Plymouth and long connected to nearby Duxbury, who died September 21 at age 77. He cherished local traditions like Duxbury Days and the annual bonfire, and spent his later years receiving care at The Chilton House in Plymouth. Services will be handled by Bartlett Funeral Home on Court Street in town.
