PLYMOUTH, MA — The Town of Plymouth’s Department of Public Works ("DPW") seeks to notify residents and visitors that, starting on Monday, March 9, 2020, contractors will commence roadway improvements to the Route 3 Exit 5 Southbound Interchange off Long Pond Road.

The improvement of the Exit 5 Southbound Interchange is being done in conjunction with the Oasis development planned for the area off Home Depot Drive. Work at the interchange will be coordinated through the Massachusetts Department of Transportation ("MassDOT") and the Town of Plymouth's DPW.

The work to be done consists of (1) the widening of the Exit 5 Southbound Off-Ramp, to accommodate an additional right turn lane onto Long Pond Road; (2) the widening of the Exit 5 Southbound On-Ramp (the ramp nearest to the solar array); (3) the reconstruction of pedestrian islands in conformance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act; and (4) the improvement of pavement, signage and traffic signals at the Interchange.

Work will take place on weekdays between the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is expected to run through the end of June 2020. At this time, there are no lane closures or detours anticipated as a result of the planned construction activities. The public is advised, however, to plan for delays throughout the duration of the project schedule.
