Sacred Heart School sophomore selected as one of only 50 students nationally to be honored

Sacred Heart School (www.sacredheartkingston.com), a private, Catholic, co-educational school for students in preschool through grade 12, is proud to announce that high school sophomore Olivia Colombo of Kingston, Massachusetts, has been named a 2017 National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) winner. She was one of only 50 nationally to achieve this honor.

The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing recognizes high school women who are interested in computing and technology, and encourages them to continue to pursue their passion for computing and technology. This year’s Aspirations Award competition attracted more than 3,500 applications nationally, making this year’s selection process the most competitive yet. Recipients are selected based on their demonstrated interest and achievements in computing, proven leadership ability, academic performance, and plans for post-secondary education.

The NCWIT Award for AiC is sponsored by Apple, Bank of America, Microsoft, Motorola Solutions Foundation, and Symantec.
