Participants enjoy performances, classes and explore 'endangered instruments'
South Shore Conservatory (SSC) hosts a free Explore the Arts open house on Sunday, September 11 from 2 to 4 pm at their Hingham campus at One Conservatory Drive, and their Duxbury campus at 64 St. George Street, Duxbury. Explore the Arts open house encourages creative explorers, ages infant through 18, to engage all of their senses on a mission to discover their arts passion. Attendees enjoy a close-up look of live student performances by SSC ensembles such as Pure Treble youth chorus, Primo and Mezzo voice classes, and SSC’s Rock Band.
An instrument petting zoo welcomes explorers to touch rare and endangered instruments including oboe, bassoon, harp, trombone, euphonium, tuba, trumpet and French horn. More familiar instruments, including piano, guitar, violin (Suzuki and traditional) and a variety of percussion instruments round out a complete experience.
