TIC Partners with GateHouse Media New England to Broadcast News

TIC is a nonprofit reading service, which broadcasts 24 hours a day to thousands of visually impaired and otherwise print disabled listeners

Talking Information Center (TIC), a non-profit reading service based in Marshfield, MA, which broadcasts 24 hours a day to thousands of visually impaired and otherwise print disabled listeners throughout Massachusetts, has announced a new partnership with GateHouse Media New England which enables them to share local news with listeners residing in towns south of Boston.

TIC, the hub of the Massachusetts Reading Network, is now able to broadcast local news from 20 of GateHouse Media New England's community newspapers covering the towns of Abington, Braintree, Bridgewater, Canton, Easton, Hanover, Hingham, Holbrook, Kingston, Mansfield, Marshfield, Norwell, Pembroke, Plymouth, Randolph, Raynham, Rockland, Scituate, Stoughton and Weymouth.

Listeners may tune in to hear their town's news read live on air Monday through Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. according to the following schedule:

Every Monday, TIC volunteers will read the Abington Mariner, Braintree Forum, Bridgewater Independent and Canton Journal.

Every Tuesday, the Easton Journal, Hanover Mariner, Hingham Journal and Holbrook Sun will be read.

On Wednesdays, the Kingston Reporter, Mansfield News, Marshfield Mariner and Norwell Mariner will air.

Thursdays will feature the Old Colony Memorial, Pembroke Mariner & Express, Randolph Herald and Raynham Call.

Fridays will feature the Rockland Mariner, Scituate Mariner, Stoughton Journal and Weymouth News.

TIC may be heard via live audio stream at http://www.ticnetwork.org or by utilizing a specially tuned radio receiver. Broadcasts may also be heard via AudioNow by calling 712-832-7025 from a home or cell phone or by using the Talking Information Center smartphone app. (Listeners with smartphones may download the free TIC app by typing “Talking Information Center” in Apple or in the Google Play store for Android devices.)
