Weymouth Club Announces Expert Nutrition Services
Weymouth Club announces expert Nutrition Services, led by Nutrition Director, Kim Trudel, MS, RD, LDN. Offers 5 Tips for Healthier Halloween

The Weymouth Club, an award-winning family-friendly fitness, wellness and recreation facility catering to residents throughout the South Shore, has announced Nutrition Services, which are available to members and non-members alike.
Weymouth Club's Nutrition Services encompass Weight Loss and General Nutrition, Medical Nutrition Therapy, and Sports Nutrition Therapy and are available to all South Shore residents.
Nutrition Services may be covered by insurance and their Dietitians are providers for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim, Aetna, United and Tufts insurance plans.
The department is led by their Nutrition Director, Kim Trudel, MS, RD, LDN, an expert in the field of nutrition with more than a decade of experience. Trudel completed her internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and holds a Master's degree from Simmons College. She is a Registered Dietitian and a licensed Dietitian and Nutritionist. Trudel is also a specialist in Sports Nutrition, and as a former athlete, understands the athlete’s mentality and knows how to tailor a sport specific meal plan to meet individual needs.
Expert Nutrition Guidance
Weymouth Club's expert Dietitians provide guidance to individuals who are trying to lose weight, incorporate healthy eating habits or address a specific medical concern such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, Celiac Disease, Crohn’s Disease, Colitis, Diverticulitis, GERD or other health issue. They provide individual counseling to learn about each client's health goals, which often includes lowering cholesterol and losing weight. After the initial assessment, an individualized nutrition plan that fits lifestyle is developed. For weight loss, the plan is often combined with the Weymouth Club's popular and very successful 12-week "90 Day Commit to Get Fit" program. Once the 12-week program is completed, individuals learn how to maintain their weight through the club's follow-up 10-week Fit Camp program, which includes working with a personal trainer twice a week.
"We work with individuals, learn about their lifestyle and then personalize a plan to help them reach their goals," explained Trudel. "Obesity related conditions such as Type II diabetes, high blood pressure, high blood sugar are on the rise and can be fixed with diet and exercise. People are becoming more proactive, more motivated, because their physicians have warned that change must be made or they'll have to go on medication. We help individuals reach their nutrition and weight loss goals. Small, easy changes can bring big results."
Trudel shares 5 nutrition tips to help families enjoy a healthier Halloween:
-Fuel up with a healthy dinner: Before a night of trick-or-treating, enjoy a healthy meal to prevent overdoing it on the candy and snacks. Looking for a Halloween themed meal idea? Try making jack-o-lantern stuffed peppers using orange bell peppers and carve a spooky face on the side.
-Make fruit fun: Draw a jack-o-lantern face on an orange or make frozen boo-nanas for snacks throughout the day.
-Set some limits: It’s okay to indulge in candy every now and then, just don’t go overboard. Limit yourself or your kids to 1-2 pieces per day.
-Think outside the (candy) box: While you probably don't want to be the one handing out raisins or floss to trick-or-treaters on Halloween night, consider giving out small toys or games. Bouncy balls, sidewalk chalk, glow sticks, temporary tattoos, and spider rings are affordable and fun options.
-Plan a Halloween party that’s focused on fun, not food: Hold a costume contest, watch a scary movie, decorate pumpkins or bob for apples.
